Is CEH worth it or should I skip to a hands-on cert?

HR filters seem to list CEH but practitioners online dismiss it. Torn on spending the money.

Honest take: CEH opens HR filters in some markets (gov/contractor especially) but won't teach you to hack. If your target roles list it, it's a checkbox worth ticking. If they don't, put the money toward a hands-on cert. Know which game you're playing before you pay.

Counterpoint: even for the checkbox, I'd pair it with a home lab you can talk about, or the interview exposes the gap fast.
