Cybersecurity mentorship should belong to the community it lifts — transparent in how it pairs people, open in how it's built, and free for everyone who shows up.
Why we exist
Cybersecurity careers move fast and lean on relationships — but the path in is gated by who you happen to know. OSCI builds the connective tissue in the open: a self-hostable platform that any nonprofit, school, or community can run so that mentees find mentors, mentors find purpose, and the platform itself never becomes a rent-seeker.
Operating principles
Transparent
Every match is explainable. The scorer is published. Numbers are not destiny — humans approve every pairing.
Open-source
Source code, scoring logic, design tokens, and the platform itself are MIT-licensed. Self-host the whole thing.
Free
Free for mentees. Free for mentors. Nonprofit-friendly. Privacy-respecting. Accessible by design.
Get involved
OSCI is community-built. Source lives on GitHub, design decisions live in our ADRs and phase specs, and the prototype backlog ships in public.
